We celebrated the end of 2007 last night by going to bed at our usual time (okay, a little later) after folding laundry and watching a movie with the kids. I kind of like the fact they didn't know that other people were celebrating, letting their kids stay up until midnight.
And here we are today, a new year at our feet. It's a good feeling, full of promise, potential. We'll be scratching out our resolutions tonight…sure to include mentions of diet Coke, TV, homemaking efforts and religious habits.
Aki's enjoying his day off work, watching all kinds of football today (but he'll fold all the laundry while he's at it). I'm getting some reading done, and helping the kids clean their room again, designating spaces for their new Christmas stuff, and trying to get motivated to tackle my room. And if we're feeling extra energy, we just might take down the Christmas lights/decorations, though being taken down doesn't mean they'll be put away.
...
Here's to you all writing some great resolutions! Remember to make them SMART goals: specific, measurable/meaningful, achievable, realistic/relevant, and timely.

Happy New Year. We spent our night rearranging furniture and catching a bit of the TLC channel. Two things we never do, especially at midnight.
We need to get together again soon and let the kids play!!
